A. W. Tozer was a man after God's heart. I have read most of his books and marvel at his knowledge of God and his desire to learn even more.

He was a great man of prayer also: "O God and Father, I repent of my sinful preoccupation with visible things. The world has been too much with me. Thou hast been here and I knew it not. I have been blind to Thy Presence. Open my eyes that I may behold Thee in and around me. For Christ's sake. Amen."

My situation is much like Cooper's I started reading CS Lewis and OC in my 40's. I would like to start reading others like Max Lucado, but there is so much depth in the writings of these two, I have found it hard to move on.

I would love to hear of some other recommendations.

It's a tie between CS Lewis and Oswald Chambers. I can't believe that I didn't discover these writers until well into my adult years! My copy of My Utmost for His Highest is completely marked and highlighted. I've also given several away. Hope everyone is looking forward to Spring!

Max Lucado has had the greatest impact on me. His book Traveling Light is one the best that I have read for growth in the Lord. It talks about giving certain burdens to God (things like Guilt and Loneliness) so that we may truly find rest in him. The more we give away to God we don't lose anything. In fact, we gain something. Him and His perfect rest which is so much better than the things like anger and bitter that we were holding on to!

God Bless all of you this weekend.
