Thank you for your words: They have challenged me to be kind to those who are "unthankful and wicked" and to be compassionate just as God is compassionate.
Your words also have comforted me. I usually see God as a wise counselor--ever-present, wanting what is good for me, but emotionally detached. But today, I glimpsed myself as God's beloved--seeing God calming my fears and delighting over me the way my husband sometimes does.
Keeping these pictures of God in mind could help me stay joyful and be more generous toward others.
