I strive to keep not only a prayerful mindset throughout my day, but also a worship mindset—expressing gratitude and praise to God. Worship is something that should flow from us to Him all the time!
Well said.
Hello Tom, You put it so well by saying “worship is something that should flow from us to HIm all the time”
Worship is a life that is devoted to God through consisted prayer, studying of the scriptures and adherence to the voice of His Word(listening when he speaks). Often in our 21st century many individuals tend to equate worship with music only when the Scripture found in Rom 12:1-2 clearly reveals to us that presenting ourselves to God as a living sacrifice is our reasonable service of worship. Worship is a lifestyle!
Good verses, mekas74. Our bodies—words, actions, all—are intended to be used in the worship of God. And, as you stated, this is so much more than just singing some songs or hymns!
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
- 1 Cor 10:31
Whether I wash the dishes, I surf the net, I do officework, I windowshop..
Most of the time though, whenever I do these daily and seemingly routine tasks, I often forget this fact that indeed, I should be doing these ALL for God’s glory. But I am refreshed everytime I hear and remember such truth.
Is the commitment, sincerity and effort I am exerting to complete a certain work sufficient to bring glory to GOD? – a question that we should always be mindful about.
Bottomline,… Bringing glory to God is tantamount to giving Him your best worship.
Key verse! Thanks for lifting it up, nivla. The perspective this wisdom brings to our work, our ministry, everything is huge.
I often consider that everything we ever need for our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual well being is found or contained within God’s creation. God provided. That basic fact helps me acknowledge that God thought of everything, every little speck and that brings a heart of worship. What I do with God’s provision really is proof of that worship whether it is just words or what comes from my heart.
I like this, poohpity! Your thoughts remind me of Matt Redman’s song “The Heart of Worship.” It truly is all about God and who He is and what He has done. Thanks for your insights.
