Everywhere I look, there are people facing mountains. High, powerful mountains. Mountains that seem utterly impossible to move.

These immovable mountains are hurting the hearts of many. These mountains come in the form of financial problems for many. Debt so big with no way to overcome it. We do our best to work hard, pay our tithe and offering, pay our debt, yet the debt piles up higher and higher and the income seems smaller and smaller. This mountain is just too big.

For some these mountains are in the form of marital problems. A spouse who is not saved. An unfaithful spouse. A spouse who does not seem to be in the relationship one-hundred percent. This mountain is too much to fight.

Many face mountains in the form of addiction. Addiction that grips us like a weed choking a flower. Addiction that’s just too difficult to get rid of.

Mountains come in all shapes and all sizes. They’re mighty. They’re too tall.

Friend, God is bigger than any mountain you could possibly face. He’s bigger than that pile of bills and no income. He’s bigger than your marriage problems. He’s bigger than any addiction. God is bigger. Friend, it is only a mountain. To us a mountain is a fixed thing. It cannot move. It’s there, and that’s the end of it. But God is bigger and God can move it!

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you (Matthew 17:20).

Ask God to move your mountain and believe He will. Then say, in faith, “MOVE!” You have the God who created the mountains and oceans on your side. There’s no reason to doubt that He will move the mountains in your life. Tell it to move!

What mountains are you facing?  Are you ready to tell it move and trust that God will move it?

This song has been on my heart for the past few days.  As you listen to it, tell your mountain to move and believe it will by God’s power!

    Wonderfully written Jenifer. Thank you.

Yes, this is truly encouraging, Jenifer! I’m reminded of what Jesus said: ““Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). As we pray according to Jesus’ will, He will move the mountains that—in His perfect wisdom—need to be moved and leave the ones that must remain for our benefit and His glory.

Jenifer, thank you for that all important reminder that we have a God who is so mighty and great. There is nothing He cannot do for us when we keep trusting and praying for Him to help us. God bless.

  4. Life can certainly hold some steep uphill climbs, but God is always with us, I am glad we don’t have to face the mountains alone.
